Week 8 Reflection - Week 8-NR 509 High quality, safe, patient-centered care grounded in holistic health principles The previous eight weeks have been both difficult and gratifying. Writing SOAP notes, ihuman case studies, generating differential diagnoses and completing the head-to-toe assessment with and during week seven at Immersion. I believe I have a solid foundation of knowledge to enable me to navigate future courses and clinical. This course taught me the value of a thorough patient interview and examination. This will aid in the patient's cost-effective, safe, and rapid diagnosis and treatment. NR 509 Advanced Physical Assessment has equipped me with the necessary tools to accomplish this goal. This training has taught me how to do a thorough history and physical examination and a focused assessment. I'm more comfortable approaching a patient and asking them more personal questions. Acquiring and processing a patient's history and primary complaint has allowed me to focus more on the patient and involve them more in their treatment plan. Possesses the capacity to acquire and adequately chart subjective data by asking targeted, pertinent questions. It also gave me the ability to analyze and complete physical examinations. I also received experience and skills in providing holistic care and understanding aberrant and typical findings. This course has also taught me how to correctly chart/dictate a patient's chart. Referring to a patient with their chart is more professional when using proper medical terminology. The referring medical professional will be able to pinpoint exactly where I discovered a "problem" and utilize my descriptive phrases to comprehend what I found if I use suitable medical terminology. This training has reminded me that, even as we try to figure out what's causing the patient's problems, we must treat them as human beings. They are dealing with external concerns that aren't going away just because they are sick. Listening to the patient's outside troubles can sometimes be all they require; an ear to listen.
