According to this source, halal foods for Muslims follow various regulations and laws proscribed by Islamic law. Usually, it regards ritual slaughter and abstention from various items like alcohol, pork, and blood. But the explanation of Islamic food traditions has usually varied through place and time. In fact, food that was once proscribed, such as caviar for Shiite Muslims has now become accepted as being halal. In markets such as the United States, Muslims can purchase their halal meat from specialized grocers or supermarkets and butchers depending on the availability and different definitions of halal.

In this article, many nations across the world support local agriculture has been a nascent concern involving the growth of local food movements as another choice of marketing. The study in this article investigated the geographic and ethnic differences concerning consumer choices for local foods in Indonesia. They used semistructured interviews to examine and establish the views of local customers regarding local foods. Quality, location, and price were established to be the key salient characteristics as far as local foods are concerned.
