Research Question: Lifespan Development Experimental Research

Volume: 4 pages (1200 words)

Subject Area: Psychology

Project Type: Research Paper

Hello, I have an experimental research project

The first part is an interview. It says one person but two would also be good.

Experiment (To be done first before starting to write): Experience the Research: Older Women For this exercise, interview an older woman, over the age of 65. You might choose a female relative, a woman from your place of worship, or a family friend. Record her age, marital status, and ethnic group. Ask her the following questions, and either audiotape or take notes on her answers: What does she feel were the three major events in her life? Why? Did she spend most of her life as a homemaker or having a job or career? Reflecting back on that role, what were the good things about it? What were the negative things? If she is single, is she lonely? Why or why not?

okay

Second Part is; Abstract – a brief summary of your research. Write the abstract after you have completed the research. (You cannot summarize something you have not yet completed!) Include why your research is important. Keep in mind that this is a summary and not an introduction. Write using the past tense (what was done) not the future tense (what will be done.) This is a separate page.

Literature Review – In an APA style papers, this section would involve a long discussion of many peer-reviewed articles that discuss similar research to the paper. These articles would help explain why this research is important. For the purpose of this paper, I only ask you to discuss two research articles that are relevant to the exercise. These articles should help explain why this research is needed. End this section talking about how these articles relate to your research how they justify the need for your research. To locate relevant articles, you can find citations within the chapter in the text that relate to the topic of the exercise and then read the article. It is not enough to use the discussion of these articles from the text. You need to read the original articles and provide your own discussion. If you cannot find two citations within the text, use the library database to find relevant articles. Your in text citations should follow APA style.

Method - Describe your subjects. This should include number, age, gender, race (if relevant) and any other important information. (Do not identify your subjects by name – use initials or number them) Then describe what you had them do (this can be paraphrased from the exercise). Results – How did your research come out? Describe the results in general. (Specific results belong in the Appendix.) Here you just report the results. The next section is when you discuss what you think they mean.

Discussion – How do you interpret the results? Did the exercise come out the way you expected? If not, why do you think it didn’t? Was it similar or different to the research you discussed in the Literature Review? What are the limitations of the study? What suggestions do you have for further research on the topic? Make sure you include the answers to all of these questions. (There is no such thing as a perfect study, so there will be some limitations. Think about what could be done to improve or extend the research.) References – You need to include the two articles you cited in the Literature Review and our text itself. If you use additional sources, include these as well. See below the format for referencing the text. Use the links provided above to see how to format your references. The References are on a separate page.

Appendices, Tables and/or Figures – this is where you show the data you compiled. Do not use subjects’ names. Identify them by initials or assign them numbers. This follows the references on a new page.

Okay no problem, I will follow the instructions as required.

I also have a textbook that I use for my class. I will send you the link. The chapter I want to do is Chapter 7 Lifespan Development

Okay please send me the textbook too.

Reference format for our text: Else-Quest, Nicole. M., & Hyde, Janet S. (2021). The psychology of women and gender: Half the human experience (10th ed.) Thousand Oaks, CA: Sage and two more articles related to the chapter and experiment.
