Mental Health Focus Review Health Promotion and Maintenance Brain Stimulation Therapies: the nurses will use brain stimulation therapies to manage the patient’s mental health issues. They will use electricity to inhibit or activate the brain. The nurse must know how to apply the electrodes invasively or noninvasively. They must also understand the conditions that can be treated via the intervention. Caring for the patient: the nurse will provide social, psychological, and emotional well-being to the patient. The nurse will also teach the patient about self-care. They will teach the patient about the importance of regular exercise, staying hydrated, regular meals, and eating healthy. Other education interventions will include prioritizing sleep, trying relaxing activities, setting goals and priorities, practicing gratitude, focusing on positivity, and staying connected. Psychotherapies: the psychotherapist identifies the most appropriate treatment plan based on the patient's medical situation and individual needs under a mental health professional's care. The nurses will teach the patient how to deal with problems at work, home, and school, how to interact with others how to cope with self-defeating ways of thinking. The psychotherapist will help the patient become aware of thinking in ways that may be automatic but harmful and inaccurate. They will help the client or the patient develop specific problem-solving approaches and track behaviors and emotions to raise awareness.
