Strategy proposal report layout and design
The layout of your strategy document may be based on a strategy document of another real organisation. The report elements of the document include a cover sheet, use of clear subheadings, report numbering where appropriate and clear concise writing style. Support the points you make with Harvard referencing. While some aspects of your report will be presented as written paragraphs your report will include four strategic analyses; internal, external, two strategic proposals with SAF justifications. These elements may lend themselves to being presented using charts, tables, and diagrams. Please check these strategy documents for inspiration and conduct further research on presentation styles:
‘Being Westminster. Our Strategy 2022-2029’:
University of Oxford Strategic Plan 2018-23:
LSE 2030 (strategy document):
Remember that the above examples of strategy documents layout do not include all elements of this assessment, literature review, reference list, that you are required to include. The examples above show useful layout and design. Please use short sentences, short paragraphs, pictures, graphs etc where appropriate. Your reader should be able to read your document quickly, therefore avoid long sentences and long paragraphs. Further guidance on the presentation of your Strategic Proposal will be available under Assessments and discussed in the final three lectures.
REFERENCING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ASSESSMENT
Statements, assertions and ideas made in coursework should be supported by citing relevant sources. Sources cited in the text should be listed at the end of the assignment in a reference list. Any material that you read but do not cite in the report should go into a separate bibliography. Unless explicitly stated otherwise by the module teaching team, all referencing should be in Westminster Harvard format.
If you are not sure about this, the library provides guidance (available via the library website pages).
Please check information about Westminster Harvard Referencing style here: The fundamentals of referencing at Westminster.
THE DEADLINE AND SUBMITTING YOUR COURSEWORK - CHECKS
Unless indicated otherwise, coursework is submitted via Blackboard.
The deadline for this assessment is at 13:00 UK time. This means that your work should be fully uploaded before 13:00. The University would treat your submission as late, if your work has not been fully uploaded and stored on the server before 13:00. In order to avoid your submission being marked as late, you should upload your work as soon as possible before the deadline and must not wait until or just before the deadline to start uploading your work.
At busy times the coursework submission process may run slowly. To ensure that your submission is not recorded as a late submission, avoid submitting very close to the deadline.
