What is an NFPT Certification Exam?
The NFPT Certification Exam is a test that is taken by individuals who are interested in becoming personal trainers. The course has been crafted to examine the learner’s knowledge of the important principles relating to exercise science, physiology, nutrition and client communication. The training helps a student develop, put into practice and modify any fitness program to attain long term results.
The National Federation of Professional Trainers (NFPT) assesses five categories; each category that is examined within this particular test has a differing weighted percentage. Now, these are the main categories that you need to know if you are about to sit for an NFPT exam:

I have told you that each category is weighed differently. Now the most important of all if you are taking the exam is Training Program Development, Implementation & Modification. This particular category has a maximum score of 33%. This category tests whether the learner is in a position of assessing a client and coming up with a suitable program that will help them in their fitness journey in relation to their goals and objectives. A key thing to note is that results is always directly proportional to retention.
The second most important category based on examination weighted mean is the Fitness Components as it takes 23% of the entire exam. In this section, anatomy and physiology are the main components that are examined. As an NFPT student, it’s imperative that you master five major parts which include: muscular strength, cardiorespiratory conditioning, body composition, muscular endurance and flexibility.
The third category is Principles of Human Anatomy which has a maximum score of 20%. In this category, the leaner is taught and tested on the form and structure of the human body.
The fourth in place is Principles of Human Physiology. This category has a total of 19%. It examines if the learner understands the human body and its support system.
The last category is Professionalism and Communication Skills. Although a student can only amass 5% in this category, I believe it is one of the most important category especially in the market. After completion of your course, you will have to put this category into practice every day of your professional life. In this category, effective communication, legal knowledge comprehension and professional conduct are taught and examined.
