Criminal Law Final Exam

Imagine that you are writing a report in a criminal justice agency; everyone is scrutinizing your work. The purpose of the assignment is to learn how to write objectively (see the lesson for writing in week one) and to base your work on the NYS Penal Law. This assignment also goes to critical thinking. You are to respond to each question in the narrative format. I do not want lists; I want this in essay form. Make your answers rich by using the Statute, charge, and definitions of the crime(s), if applicable. Do not copy from the text. Avoid using contractions, texting language, and ensure that words are used properly (to, two, and too/there, their and they're (but do not use the last one). Edit your work.
For this assignment, you will attach a MicroSoft Word document  within the attachment section within the assignment; no other form of word processing is acceptable.  If I cannot open your assignment, the grade is an automatic F. The paper is Times-New Roman, 12-font, double spaced. If you do not have Word on your personal computer, chances are someone you know has it or a conversion on the Web. The exam is conducted April 17-May 3, 2021 completed by the end of the day. Drop your final as an attachment within this folder.  NO MAKE-UPS, EXCUSES, OR EXCEPTIONS SO DO NOT ASK! Respond to the following scenario using  Penal Law information, such as statute, title, and definition of the Crime(s). Make sure I know that you know that I know what you are talking about. The information contained may be of a cumulative nature.
Sally "V.D." Hooker is a simple working girl and has a spot on Chippewa Street where she conducts business. She is very good at her trade and charges high prices for her services. In addition, she loans her six-year-old daughter out to various friends for sexual purposes generally done in her apartment. Neighbors can only imagine what is transpiring with the daughter as various men go in and out of the apartment; however, they do nothing as they hear the child in distress. They are afraid of Sally because they know she is mentally distburbed and a drug user and witnessed her acting violently. Anyways, Sally goes to the medical clinic for a check-up and discovered that she is positive with HIV. Pissed off, Sally get high and decides she is going to exact some revenge: she will go on with 'business as usual' and not tell the johns that she is positive and infects 10 men and two woman. Sally, however, handed a note to the last johnette that said 'Welcome to the wonderful world of AIDS.' She cannot help but notice that the look on the womans face is priceless and Sally slashes her in the face 12-times with a straight razor, then steals her wallet. The woman is able to escape and calls the police. Sally decides to fight with the police as they attempt to arrest her and must hogtie her because she is acting so aggressively. One officer suffers a broken nose and scratches. Upon her arrest, Sally has a spontaneous utterance while in the back of the police car that she looked at each John's car registration and took down all of their names and addresses and she keeps the information in her apartment. The police obtain a search warrant for the apartment and upon entering the apartment building, see some of the neighbors standing outside their doors listening to a child in distress, and break down the door. Well, there is one of Sally's friends, that same Sammy Sykopath, on top of her daughter while a video camera is in record mode. There is five pounds of marijuana on the table and Sammy claims it is not his. Upon a search of the apartment, police discover a bunch of video tapes that are sexual in nature and involving the child.

Now, you must ask who would be charged with what. What are the applicable NYS penal law crimes and past assignments are involved to include the statute, title, definition, and charge? What information can you find in your text or the penal law?  What information can you find from other sources? Make sure you click on Final exam and drop as an attachment. HINT, HINT: You might want to look at drug charges, crimes against children, assault, aggravated assault, just to name a few. You are recreating what happened and NOT creating a story.
