Emotions are so important to human beings because they help us to survive, make decisions, avoid danger and succeed in life. According to Charles Darwin, emotions are human and animal adaptations that help them to survive and reproduce.
Emotions impact our decisions and behaviors in many ways, for instance, when a person is angry, they are likely to confront the things that make them angry. On the other hand, when people experience fear, there are high chances that they will flee from the threat while when people experience love, it is likely that they will seek a mate and reproduce.
Emotions also impact behavior because people usually act basing on how they feel or what is in their thoughts. Many times, emotions persuade people to do things because they think that it is the right thing to do at that particular time.
There are many times when I make decisions basing on how I am feeling at that particular time. There are moments when decisions made entirely out of emotions result to negative outcomes while there are times when the decisions made out of emotions result to positive outcomes. It is important that people self-critique their emotions before making decisions.
