Health and health care are critical elements of human life. Various factors affect health and health care, including timely healthcare access. Availability, as well as accessibility, are critical indicators of effective and efficient primary health care systems. Canada is currently facing a problem with timely access to health care (Vogel, 2017). the long waits for care are causing poor health outcomes and, therefore, a great need to address the challenge. This review is concerned with interventions that the care professionals and institutions can take to reduce primary care appointments waiting times, evaluate patient contentment, and decrease no-show rates. The question used in the review is what interventions are effective and efficient in reducing wait times? Do these intentions amount to patient gratification and decrease of no-show rates? Methodology The study is a systematic review of the interventions that can lower the primary care waiting times. The review is specific and investigates primary care interventions. It reports quantitative data on the wait times and compares the intervention and nonintervention data. The exclusion criteria was narrative, editorial, commentary study, or a study not identifying interventions for reducing the wait time.
