The application of the cognitive behavioral therapy in psychology is growing daily. The model was originally conceptualized in 1964 by Beck and is being used to target groups as well as individuals (Fenn & Byrne, 2013). Based on the model perceptions as well as events play a critical role in shaping people’s perceptions. According to the model, situations do not influence feelings by themselves but rateher the way they way people construe them (Beck & Haigh, 2014). This means that the model explores the links between behavior, emotions and thoughts when treating mental conditions.
