Before you began class, what was your understanding of Psychology? (i.e. what did you initially think when you learned you would be taking this class?) Based on what you thought and have now read introducing you to the different aspects of Psychology what do you expect to learn in this class?
passing gradesAnswer:
The term psychology is used to refer to the scientific study of how the mind and behavior operate. The American Psychological Association defines psychology as the multidimensional discipline that has several subfields of study for instance a study of human development, social behavior, sports, clinical, cognitive, and health processes. Moreover, the study of psychology deals with the study of different phenomena such as feeling, thought, conscious and unconscious states of the mind.
Before beginning class, I did not have an actual understanding in relation to the definition and meaning of psychology. However, I had a rough Idea that psychology is a study that examines different facets of the mind such as how people think and behave. From the knowledge that I have garnered from going through the course syllabus, I now understand that this class will impart me with significant knowledge on human behavior, social interactions and social interactions among other things. Therefore, I expect to learn many things such as theoretical perspectives in social psychology and research that is employed within the field of social psychology.
