- What led you to the position that you are in?
There is nothing unique that I can associate with my success. However, I think the love and passion I have for basketball are at the core of my current world sports position. Other attributes that have made me a good player are flexibility and the ability to be a team player. I not only focus on improving myself but also improving fellow players within my team to win every time we are facing our rivals.
- How important are the academic choices that influenced your path?
I was not so much into academics since my passion for playing basketball was at the peak while in high school, particularly, St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. I did not have any plans about how I should integrate my education with my talent; however, while playing in St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, I was spotted and recruited to the NBA high school draftees. I believe that joining the academy significantly influenced my success and making me the person I am today. The reason for saying this is because I had the chance to be trained early enough while my peers headed to college.
- How did your previous professional positions lead and prepare you for your current role?
My previous professional positions have made me work hard in order to maintain my position and improve the status of the teams that I play for. In the year 2003, I was named the NBA rookie of the Year; this made me work hard because I did not want to fail in the following seasons. I am happy that I am currently a leader and one of the best players in the world.
- What professional accomplishments are you most proud of?
I am proud of all my professional accomplishments. However, the NBA Rookie of the year title is the one I cherish the most because it was my first major accomplishment in the game that I love so much.
- What future trends do you see in the field?
The game has been changing, and I believe that change is inevitable in any field. In the basketball field, I think that the number of fans will increase to the point that basketball fans will equal football players. Also, I envision technology being integrated into basketball, which will have a considerable impact. Advancement and integration of technology will significantly help how basketball is analyzed.
- What advice would you give someone who aspires to work in the field?
I would advise them not to give up despite the challenges and always practice a lot since practice plays a crucial role in improving a player’s expertise.
Personal reaction summary
I have been a fan of Miami heat for a long time, and LeBron has been my favorite basketball player since I started gaining interest in the sport. I would like to play basketball for big teams that compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA). I chose exercise science as my field of study to have sufficient knowledge of human fitness, longevity, and holistic wellness. I believe that these factors are the most important for any athlete or anyone who wants to venture into the sports business. It is my dream that one day I will turn out one of the best, if not the best player globally. Career-wise, I would like to venture in the health and fitness industry. I will open a gym and an academy. The academy will majorly offer training services to athletes and providing first aid and treatment to injured athletes.
